My Early Years of Compassion
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Shane didn’t let his big wallet come before his bigger heart. He still contributed to charitable actions, including a seat on the board of the food bank to help manage the day-to-day workings. The experience of fraternizing with down-and-out people inspired him to do more.
After a moment of inspiration, Shane initiated a contest for the poor: entrants entered their name, email address, and the number of dinner attendants, and the winner would get a complete Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. He put the entry box in the food bank, but kept one special secret to himself… They would really be feeding everyone who entered!
Shane wasn’t prepared for such a large response, but that didn’t stop him. He hit the phones and asked donations from everyone he could to finance all those Thanksgivings. Local grocery stores gave discounted turkeys, and gym members helped transfer all the goods. In the end, Shane’s vision and hard work provided a warm Thanksgiving dinner for over 140 families in need.
Years later, Shane cites this as one of the greatest learning experiences of his life. Delivering the food and meeting the people in person showed him that sometimes the roughest neighborhoods house the nicest people.
This Thanksgiving food drive soon became a tradition, growing each and every year. Today, hundreds of volunteers provide thousands of pounds of food to the less fortunate.
Actions of Compassion is born
Already an influential on social media, Shane Jeremy James decided to use his power for good. He reached out to his 200,000 Twitter followers with a simple and heartfelt message: Wanna help me build a compassion movement.
His Actions of Compassion movement started by asking everyday people to go out and record the acts of compassion they commit and post the compassionate acts. The response was astonishing, and every new recruit to the movement helped spread the message further.
Shane didn’t stop there. He created The EveryDay Compassion Movement Show and inspired others to do daily acts of compassion. He attracted celebrities to join, reached the younger generations through Snapchat, and grew a large compassionate community, and more.
Still, Shane promotes Actions of Compassion with all his efforts. To him, the movement won’t stop until compassion goes more main stream.
“To create social change and inspire people to make a positive difference in the world, while continuing to lead a global compassion movement. “We believe that everyone can make a difference.”
Shane Jeremy James always had a passion for business
Straight out of college, Shane made a name for himself by bringing the fastest growing franchise ever, Curves for Women, into Canada. This innovative business strategy earned him the acquaintance of some of the most profitable business leaders in the world, who shared with him their secrets. What was then a tiny upstart later became the fastest-growing franchise in the world, ballooning to four billion dollars in just ten years. But Shane saw its potential early on, and attached himself to it. He first targeted investors wherever he could — his old college professor, and even his mother. These early investments paid off as their first store landed in the top 10 most profitable out of the 10,000 total in the franchise.
Growing up in a small Saskatchewan town of 1,000, Shane always had a gift for motivating. His natural energy, skill for entertaining, and innate sense of compassion set him apart as a born leader.
For Christmas and birthday, young Shane asked for only one thing: entrepreneur magazines! His love of business stretches back to his childhood, and he’s carried all those magazines — and the lessons therein — with him for more than 15 years.
Even his hobby for hockey, normal for a Canadian youth, showed his intrinsic entrepreneurialism. Not only did he practice his negotiation skills selling hockey cards to local kids, he also honed his leadership skills as team captain — not for being the best player, but for inspiring and unifying the team.
Public Speaker, Author, and TV Personality
Shane later moved into the fitness industry with his book Think, Act, Love, Lose Weight. This began to earn him global recognition, with write-ups and TV appearances as far as India and China.
This success brought out Shane’s natural talent for public speaking. Book tours and publicity campaigns put him in front of crowds of thousands, peaking at a single gathering of 10,000 people.
With a lot to say, Shane continued writing books on his passions of networking, business management, and personal success. It was at this time that Shane’s eye caught the next leading trend, digital marketing. He realized this would be the perfect avenue to promote his line of programs, books, and video courses on a worldwide scale. This was the birth of his three current endeavors, Shane Jeremy Media, Branding Talent and Actions of Compassion.
